REVIVING OLD MEMORIES. (“Chronicle,” Sept- 18, 1909) The wharf lumpers’ old shed, which has done duty for such a long time, and which has been discarded in favour of the new one, was dismantled yesterday by the Harbour Board employees and removed to the South Spit. Wc understand that it will be used by the South Spit employees. Good progress is being made with the dredging of the river, considering the fact that the spoil is hard clay. The complimentary social tendered to the members of the working bee in connection with, the District High School baths took place at Dustin’s Rooms last evening. Among those present were Messrs- W. Bruce (chairman of the School Committee), and D. McFarlane (chairman of the Baths Committee).
