MATCH IN WANGANUI TWO TEAMS PLAY TO-DAY CREAM OP NORTH ISLAND TALENT Members of the two North Island Rugby trial teams, which are to play tn Wanganui, arrived in the city yesterday and were accorded a civic welcom© at the Opera House last night. All players have arrived, with the exception of W. Hadley, Auckland,. who missed the train and win reach Wanganui this morning. The Probables turn, which is under the management o_f_Mr. J. D. Adams, to cater for a large crowd of spectators. Mr. E. McKenzie (Wairarapa), one of the North Island selectors, arrived last night and will be joined by Mr. V. It. Crowley on behalf of the “Probables.” The audience fittingly terminated the welcome by singing “On the Ball.” The trial match to-day is to be preceded by a curtain-raiser bctw'een Kaierau (Wanganui) and Mangaweka (Rangitikci), the latter team having been strengthened by the inclusion ol some Rata players.
