STORM-TOSSED SHIPS
ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND ( Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, July 2. An addition to the list of stormdamaged ships is the Tairoa, which arrived to-day from Liverpool, after steaming against a bead gale and mountainous seas. Nearly all of the forecastle fittings were damaged. The brackets on each side of a heavy winch on the forecastle head were twisted back on themselves and nearly every awning stanchion was bent. The steamer Sheaf Crown, from New A’ork, was also delayed by the weather, and two tankers will arrive late owing to the rough weather outside.
