Tom Lurich and Harban Singh were the contestants, using every ounce of weight, power and skill, the match going into the fourth round before tho first fall went to Singh with a body-press. Lur'ch also secured a fall in the sixth round and the referee ordered an extra round. BOUT AT WANGANUI AM BEY—WONG CHEUNG. WEDNESDAY’S ATTRACTION. The AH Bey-Wong Buk Cheung wrestling match, which is to be staged by the VVanga/iui Association on \\ cdnesday evening, gives every promise uf proving a big attraction. Ali Bey has the reputation of being one of the strongest and cleverest grapplers of the day, and the appearance here of the wily Turk is being looked forward to with keen interest by the fans. In Wong Buk Cheung he will be meeting one who has created a very favourable impression wherever he has appeared. The Chinese has, unfortunately, been suffering from boils recently, and he has not been seen at his best, but he reports himself as fit again, and consequently he should be able to put up a great tussle with the Turk on Wednesday. The critics all agree that Cheung is one of the fastest and most scientific matmen seen in these parts, lie is a master of every hold, and quick as lightning in his movements. Wherever the Chinese matman has appeared he has made himself very popular with the fans generally, and naturally his countrymen idolise him. It is evident from the number of inquiries already made re booking that there is going to be a large attendance at the Opera House next Wednesday.
