Malfroy trjed vainly to match Boussus’ volleying. Occasionally he more than matched it, but it was mostly Boussus who finished the bouts with a toss, to which Malfroy left himself right open. The Frenchman just feasted on Malfroy's lobs, and was more certain with his ground shots. Menzel simply swept Perry off his feet in the first set. Thereafter Perry was more steady, while the Czech was too eager to make winners. Perry waited for his opponent to make errors. Menzel tired towards tho end, and Perry, taking the net, finally outplayed the Czech.
