JULIUS CAESAR

ONLY KNOWN BUST. GENUINENESS PROVED. ROME, June 12. Archaeologists have proved that the marble head discovered in Sicily in 1784 is the only known bust of Julius Caesar that was made during his lifetime. Professor Boehringer has reported to Signor Mussolini that he is convinced, after studying the bust, for a year, that it is that of Julius Caesar. The discovery is important, because the bust provides a contemporary portrait. It even reproduces a slight facial deformity. and is a vivid individual piece of work. Signor Mussolini, after examining the photographs, said: “I feel that it is the real effigy of the dictator.”
