PROTECTION on black gulls REMOVED.

Advice has been received by the local secretary of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society that the protection on black gulls has been removed. The black gulls have been responsible for great destruction among the young lambs during the lambing season and farmers are now at liberty to destroy these birds. ‘ ‘ THE LAND OF MAKE BELIEF. ’ ’ On Friday, July 6, at the Civic Theatre, Alarton. There are no less than 21 musical numbers, each one having a special appeal. On the application of the police a remand was granted to July 5. At the Children’s Court in Alarton on Friday morning four boys were charged with breaking insulators on electric light poles. They were severely reprimanded and their parents were ordered to pay the cost of the damage. The magistrate said that in future cases he would take a much more serious view.
