RUGBY FOOTBALL. The monthly meeting of the Wairoa Rugby Sub-Union was held on June 27, when there were present Alessrs. 1. D. Blackie (chair), H. D. Forsyth, A. E. Symes, E. C, Dallison. 11. Stuart, J. A. McGlade, E. W. Lee, G. AlcConachy and J. Armstrong. It was resolved to play a trial game, in Waitotara, on July 7, to pick a team to meet the Aletropolitan B. »epresentatives as a curtain-raiser for the Aletropolitan v. Taihape match. Messrs. Stuart. Cameron and Laird are to select the team. Waverlcy protested against Waitotara for playing a junior who nad played for Ngutuwera the previous week. The game was ordered to be replayed, and the player was suspended for four playing Saturdays. Mr J. Verry reported having ordered off two players (Waverley v. Rangitatau match) for lighting. Both I ayers were suspended for two playing Saturdays. It was decided to endeavour to arrange a Wairoa v. Waverley Metrjpolitan team game at the close of the season. The following resolution wa>, passed: “That after discussing the position of the Waverley A team in the Wanganui Aletropolitan competition this committee are of the opinion that the Waverley A team, having joined the Aletropolitan Union and haring paid their affiliation, are for the ti ne being playing members of that union, and should be entitled to privileges of the Metropolitan Union only.”
