THE VALUER-GENERAL
ON EVE OF RETIREMENT. ( Per Preps Association. 1 WELLINGTON, Juno 25. Retirement from the Public Service at the end of the present month of the Valuer-General, Air. T. Brook, was announced by the Minister in charge of the Valuation Department, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, to-day. Mr. Brook has 43 years’ service to his credit. Mr. Brook was born at Evans Flat, Otago, and was educated at the Lawrence District High School. Ho passed his senior Civil Service exam, in 1893 and the senior survey exam, in 1897. He was appointed inspecting surveyor at Gisborne in 1912, and Commissioner of Crown Lands, at Westland, in 1916. He was transfererd to Invercargill in 1919, moving to Wellington in 1922. In 1925 he was appointed Valuer-Gcn-c ra 1.
