A "CHAIN” OF SUICIDES
NINE CHINESE GIRLS. ALL JUMPED INTO SEA. Received June 25, 10.27 p.m. PEKING, June 25. A remarkable suicide pact resulting in the death of nine Chinese girls aged from 13 to 19 is reported in the local press. The girls tied themselves together in a chain and jumped into the sea near Huian on the Fukien coast. Seven wore first cousins and all but the youngest committed suicide owing to dissatisfaction with married life. On official investigation is likely.
