GATHERING AT BIRMINGHAM SERMON BY BISHOP BARNES LONDON, June 24. “As far as such action depended on ourselves, I would restore Germany’s colonies,” declared Bishop Barnes in lus sermon Ju connection wrtn the National Peace Congress at Birmingham. He emphasised the ardent desire for universal disarmament, and added that if such attempts failed ho would have Britain disarm and trust for safety to her policy of international righteousness. “I would give India self-gov-ernment, withdrawing all control except for the maintenance of order during the transition period.”
