THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Sir. —H.G.’s remarks in your issue of 3rd inst. are rather amazing. Mr. Horsley did not say, nor is he reported to have said, church is never spoken of as the body of Christ.” On the contrary, he said, “Scripture tells us that the church is the body of Christ,” and proceeded to argue that as, according to scripture, Christ was the head and body of the church the church could not be the bride unless n man could marry himself. If this is not a deliberate attempt on H.G.’s part to sidetrack the line of argument he will no doubt see the result of his careless reading and apologise for his mistake. When H.G. talks about the “Jewish Kingdom,” he speaks of something which docs not exy>t and he is apparently unacquainted with the Kingdom of Israel (God’s Kingdom on earth), which docs not exist to-day if the Bible is true. I am afraid H.G. reads his Bible as superficially as he reads the “Chronicle” and he should give both more attention.—Yours, etc., E. V. LAWS, Hon. Sec., 8.1.W.P.
