WEATHER FORECAST
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Friday, April 6, 4 p.m. General Situation.—There is little change in the meteorological situation. An anti-cyclone still covers New Zealand and extends far to the eastward, while a shallow depression lies along the east eoast of Australia. Forecast. —Winds: Moderate to fresh north-easterly to northerly prevailing, southerly at first in parts of the Cook Strait area. Seas (New Zealand waters): Bather rough north of East Cape, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong northerly winds and moderate seas. Weather: Fair to fine and mild in most districts, but cloud gradually increasing generally and mist or fog likely on parts of the East Coast.’ Later some scattered drizzling rain probable. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John’s Hill, report for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday. Bright sunshine, 4 hours 10 minutes. Rainfall, nil. Shade temperature: Maximum, 66 deg. Fahr.; minimum, 51 deg. Fahr. Phases of the Moon:—Full moon, April 1; last quarter, April 8; new moon, April 15, last quarter, April 23.
