WOMEN’S INSTITUTE There was a fair attendance at the February meeting of the Bulls women’s Institute, the president, Airs. F. Ralfe, being in the chair. The afternoon was spent in dealing with a lengthy business agenda, after which Airs Ralfe gave a very descriptive report of the National Flower Show, held in Palmerston North last month. Airs. Harris proposed a vote of thanks to Airs. Ralfe for her work in connection with the Show, and stressed the success attained by the Bulls Women’s Institute. —Carried by acclamation. Congratulations wore extended to Airs. L. Huddleston on winning the Federation prize for the most outstanding thrift article in the handicraft display at the Show, the exhibit being a beautiful carpet runner 4yards long. The competition for the afternoon was a hand-knitted lacy jumper, and resulted as follows: —Airs. Walls J, Mrs. S. G. Goebel 2, Miss Tricker 3. Miss Esme Simpson kindly donated the prize for the competition. The Group meeting will be held in Bulls on Feb. 19. Nominations for the committee must reach the secretary by March sth. A sales stall in charge of Airs. Edwards did good business.
