CONSPIRACY CHARGES
MILES BEFORE COURT PLEA OF NOT GUILTY LONDON, Feb. 5. Miles, on trial at the Old Bailey pleaded not guilty to nine counts, in eluding conspiring with Harris to per vert the administration of justice, als( corruptly accepting £5OO and a ban! guarantee of £lOOO from Harris, be sides smaller amounts; also as conii dential agent of the salvage corps be fraying information secretly collected thereby effecting public mischief. The Attorney-General in his speech for the prosecution recounted the al legations. Harris, a shadow of his former self was accommodated to a seat in th( dock owing to his illness. He recapi tulated his evidence. The hearing was adjourned.
