ERECTION IN LONDO”. COST OF OVER £2,000,000. I British Official Wirelea*. J Received Dec. 21, 5.15 p.m. RUGBY, Dec. 20. Mr. Vincent Harris, architect, who has been appointed for the new Government buildings in Whitehall, is 54 years of age, and won the competition in 1914 for the Board of Trade building, construction of which was postponed owing to the war. The new Government buildings contemplated will stand between Whitehall and the Embankment, and will house about. 5000 civil servants. It is expected that the new building will cost over £2,000,000. Mr. Thomas Tait is the architect for the new offices in Edinburgh, which will cost about £400,000.
