MILITARY CADETS WANGANUI APPOINTMENT ( Per Pres* Association. I WELLINGTON, Dec. 21. One of the results of the recent negotiations with Australia for closer reciprocity and co-operation with New Zealand has been a decision to resume sending military cadets from the Dominion to the Royal Military College of Australia (Sydney). The Minister of Defence (the Hon. .1. G. Cobbe), stated last evening that four cadets had been selected to proceed to the college early in March next to undergo the four years’,course. They aie: Mr. N. B. Cowper. Christchurch; Mr. E. W. R. Williams, Christchurch; Mr. H. E. Gilbert, Wanganui: and Mr. 1,. W. Thornton, Christchurch. The Minister explained that from 1911 to 1922 all young officers for the permanent force in New* Zealand were trained at the Royal Military College nf Australia, but from 1923 to 1928 the British Service colleges were utilised. Since 1928 no cadets had until sow been annninted.
