WELLINGTON TEAMS SHIELD AND CASKET The teams to represent Wellington in defence of the Anthony Wi filing Memorial Shield and the Kathleen Nuunelcy Casket were picked by the selectors on Sunday. The teams are as follows: Wilding Memorial Shield: C. E. Malfroy, R. McL. Ferkins (captain), E. A. Roussell, R. Howe. Emergency, N. Smith. Nuunelcy Casket, at Wellington: Miss D. was picked after a nnal series of matches in which N. Smith (Thorndon) was tested out against all his rivals for tbo team. R. McL. Ferkins beat him, 6—2, 6—2; E. A. Roussell bent him, 6—2, 6—2; and R. Howe boat him, 6—4, 2 —6, 6—l. The doubles combinations will be Malfroy and Ferkins, and Roussell and Howe. D. G. France was not available. The position of the Nunneley Casket matches is somewhat involved. The team chosen to play at Wellington will meet a fairly strong Wanganui-Tara-naki side at Miramar Grounds next Friday and Saturday. For this match Mrs. 11. M. Dykes is not available, as she is leaving for Christchurch early this week. Should Wellington win this match the team to play the remaining contests at Christchurch will include Mrs. Dykes as first player, but will omit, Miss Howe, who is not able to go south. Mrs. D. G. France was not available for either match, and no emergency has been pickad, but if an emergency is required the player will bo Miss M. Macassoy. The doubles combinations in the Casket team at Wellington will bo: Misses Nicholls and Howe, Misses Whyte and Whisker.
