"SLEEPING CAR" A GOOD PICTURE. This pictu e was shown to a delighted audience on Saturday night, anti will be seen by hundreds more during its season in the city. Ivor Novello and Madelene Carroll are the stars. The story i.: a happy, breezy one, centering round the famous trans-Continjntal express. The hero is the attendant of the ladies’ sleeping car and his Tc.'-e affairs would fill a book. Until he meets his "last love," the hero has little to be serious about in his other aff.’irs When no really falls in love, however, he finds i how uphill and down dale the pathway i becomes. Many piquant scenes develop, and there is much to laugh at as well as much to Jove as the story unfolds. A marriage, which is to be strictly a formality, is arranged. But a marriage is a marriage, even though two signatures appear on a contract that bears words to the effect that it is a mere formality, aimed at. getting over the law of the land. The bedroom scene, on the night of the manage is very intriguing. When the lady makes attempts at keeping up appearances in front of the servants the trend of the picture becomes most amusing. Later, when she finds a fair damsel in her “ formal’ ’ husband’s bed, the story rises te a scream. Thia is really a delightful picture of that type which refreshes life. Ivor Novello is an appealing star, and is ably supported by Madeleine Carroll. Claude Allister is very amusing as the baron whose eyeglass is a definition of character. Everything has a gay Paris flavour about it. A picture that should not be missed.

The big picture is supported by a most amusing comedy entitled "The Bailiffs." It revolves round the theme of bailiffs getting into the wrong house. The news reel features the arrival of a British Warship, H.M.S. Norfolk. at New York. "Speeches and Cream" is an amusing film depicting many scenes of interest. It switches rapidly from one subject to another, yet links the whole together in happy sequence. Many people are commending the Plaza on securing the best pictures and are looking forward to several notable ones that have already been announced.
