Mr. and Mrs. Woodfield, of Gisborne, are visiting Wanganui and arc guests at Foster’s Hotel. Miss Lenna Miller Marton is the guest of Mrs, A. W. Gunson, Mt. Eden, Auckland. Canon and Mrs. Williams, returned home on Tuesday, from a holiday spent in Wellington. Miss A. Bunbury, of Wanganui, is ■'it present spending a holiday in Wel■ington. Mrs J. Lee is spending the school holidays at Paparangi as the guest of Mrs F. Shadbolt. Miss M. Williams, who has been visiting Wellington, returned home on Tuesday. Miss B. Gaisford, of Marton, who is visiting Wanganui for the ladies’ golf tournament, is a guest of Mrs. Morgan Duncan. • • * # Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Williams, of Woolworth’s head office, Wellington, are visiting Wanganui to attend the celebration in connection with the second birthday of the local branch. Mrs. Collinson (Palmerston North) is visiting Wanganui for the Wanganui , ladies’ provincial golf championship. Mrs. and Mrs. E. Lovegrove, Wanganui, are visiting Wellington *•* ‘ * Mrs. Wallace Strachan has returned to Okoia, Wanganui, from Gisborne. V • • • Miss D. Martin, and her guest, Miss Johnston, returned yesterday from a week-end visit to Sanson. * * * * Miss I. Ashmore and Mr. M. Bain were the chief guests at a card evening arranged by Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Fowler, Duncan Street, on Thursday last. Mrs. Stevens and Mr. were the prize-winners, and Miss Ashmore and Mr. Pain gained the consolation prizes. During the evening the chief guests received a large number of very suitable presents for use in their future home. All Saint’s Hall at Wanganui East was prettily decorated and filled with friends who entertained Miss I. Ashmore and Mr M. Bain on Monday evening. A long programme of dances and supper provided by the ladies were indulged in and thoroughly enjoyed by all. During the evening Miss Ashmore was presented with a beautiful bouquet and a useful gift. The two guests were also the recipients of many good wishes for their future happiness. Among the many friends present were Mr. and Mrs. McEwan, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson.
