WAIKATO MINES
RESUMPTION OP WORK. AGREEMENT RATIFIED. [ Per Press Association. I HAMILTON, May 10. The Waikato mines will be working to-day following tho ratification yesterday by tho miners of the terms of settlement agreed to at tho conference between the representatives of tho mining companies and the miners. The dispute arose on April 18 when the Renown Co. posted a notice proposing to postpone the payment of 20 per cent, of the wages due to the men during the continuance of the coal price “war.” It has been agreed that the Renown Company will withdraw the notice so that the mines will be open for work under the present agreement.
