Senator Massy Greene, chairman of tho Loan Council, announced that the Commonwealth Bank proposed to discount Treasury bills from June 1 at 2| per cent., represents a fur Iher reduction of a quarter per cent, in the discount rate. Tho rate has been progressively reduced since July, 1931, from 6 to 2-i per cent. The latest reduction will mean a saving to the various Govern meets of £130,000.
