ANTI-JEWISH RIOTS SEVEN AMERICANS INJURED SERIOUS DEVELOPMENTS CIVIL SERVICE UNDERMINED (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) Received Mav 10, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, May 10. The Daily Telegraph’s Vienna cor respondent says that anti-Jewish riots of exceptional brutality were started at the Vienna University. Thirty students were injured, including seven American doctors who are studying in Vienna and who have lodged a protest with the American Consulate. The police stopped the disorders in the streets, but the ancient’ privilege prevented them from going to the university, where Nazi students, armed with sticks studded with nails, attacked Jewish, Socialist and foreign students, who jumped from the windows into tho streets, their faces often streaming with blood. The serious aspect of the Austrian situation is that the civil service is undermined by tho Nazi movement.
