LOST EXPLORER’S FATE SEARCH EXPEDITION PLANNED Received May 10, 10.40 p.m. PEKING, May 10. The Swedish explorer, Sven Hedin, aged 68. is seeking Nanking’s permisison to lead a mixed Sino-forcign expedition into Sinkiang to search for Dr. Nils Ambolt, the Swedish scientist, who has been missing in the wilds of central Asia since November. Six months ago Dr. Ambolt lost a caravan of 80 camels during a terrific snowstorm among the mountains or northern Tibet, and was forced to abandon data, including the results of four years’ research, in addition to a valuable collection of scientific instruments. He then proceeded afoot toward.) the Chcrchen Oasis, 400 miles northward of Urumchi, but since then he has not. been heard of.
