Mr R. G. Buckleton accompanied by Mrs. Buckleton arrived in Wanganui last evening. Mr. Buckleton addresses the members of the Farmers’ Union, the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club at mid-day to-day. Guests registered at Spriggens’ Hotel include: Mr and Mrs Elliott, Mr R. Reeves, Dr. M. R. Watt, Mr C. Beggs (Wellington); Mr E. M. Fletcher (Christchurch); Mr E. Evans-Jones, Mr A. A. Sinclair (Perth). Mr. H. W. Boyce, manager of Hallenstein Bros.. Wanganui, has been appointed the manager of the Strat ford branch. Before he left Wanganui he was met by the staff and presented with a fountain pen. Mr. A. B. Gilmour, of the Wanganui branch, will fill the vacancy at Wanganui. Guests registered at Fosters’ Hotel include: Mr G. A. Corn ford, Colombo, Ceylon; Mr C. H. Andrews, Mr F. Myers, Mr and Mrs R. M. Doughty, Mr J. H. Munro. Mr and Mrs R. G. Buckleton, Wellington; Mr and Mrs C. J. Adams, Palmerston North; Mr G. Sampson, Auckland. At a meeting of the Wanganui Horticultural Society held this week, feeling reference was made to the loss the society had suffered in the death of the late Mrs C. H. E. Rhodes, who had been an indefatigable worker in the interests of the society for very many years past. A motion of sympathy with her relatives was pasesd, all members standing in silence as a tribute of respect to her memory. Guests at the Rutland Hotel include: Messrs M. Bush, E. B. Williams, F.
