PIGEON FLYING

WANGANUI CLUB END-OF-SEASON RESULTS On Saturday, the Wanganui Pigeonflying Club flew three races, a produce race from To Kuiti, and two interval •championships. The produce race birds were liberated by the stationmaster at Te Kuiti, an air-line distance of 110 miles, in dull weather, the winning bird taking 3 hours 25 minutes, 55 seconds, and only four birds homing in race time. The north interval championship was held from Te Kuiti, the birds being liberated by Mr Henderson at 15minute intervals. The winning bird covered the distance in 3 hours 27 minutes 3 seconds. Tho south interval championship was held from Paekakariki, an airline distance of 72 miles 1056 yards, the birds being liberated by Mr Read at 15-minute intervals, the winning bird covering the distance in 2 hours 17 minutes 19 seconds. The Young Bird Shield for most points in voung birds was won by L. Edmonds, with 78 points. A special prize for most points in the interval championship races was won by W. Sundborn.
