A “HEATHEN CROSS”
CATHOLICS AND SWASTIKA. THREE PRIESTS ARRESTED. Received May 9, 7.15 p.m. MUNICH, May 8. Dr. Bauer, parish priest at Schwarzhofen, and Dr. Breu, priest at Posen, have been preventively arrested for unknown reasons. Dr. Breu has been sent to hospital with heart trouble. A third priest has been arrested for stating in a sermon delivered on Labour Day that Catholics could never recognise the swastika, which was a heathen cross. A total of 172 persons have been preventively arrested and transferred to a concentration camp at Dachau.
