DISCOVERY IN SPAIN FORMEK LEADER DEPORTED (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) MADRID, May 8. A plot for tho overthrow of the Government has been discovered. General Goded, who with Major Franco, the air ace, was responsible for the fall of the Dictatorship, has been deported to the Canary Islands for alleged complicity in a Monarchist conspiracy. General Orgaz has fled to Portugal. CHANCE DISCOVERY WIDESPREAD PRECAUTIONS MADRID, May 8. The discovery of the plot was due to the chance arrest of a jewel thief. The movement depended on the collaboration of troops in the Basque Province, where religious issues have created unrest, Barcelona, Valladolid, and Valencia being expected to assist in a bloodless rebellion, exiling the Cabinet to make room for the right wing majority, and possibly to restore the Monarchy. Widespread precautions are being taken, particularly in view of the prospects of a la,rge syndicalist strike.
