HIGHER QUOTATIONS. PRICE OF GOLD LOWER. [ British Official Wirclws.] RUGBY, May 6. This morning sterling again showed marked strength on New York and Paris, following Continental speculation selling of the dollar and French franc. Sterling on New York was at 4.05$ dollars and Paris 85 5-16 francs. Gold dropped sevenpence in price to £6 4s Id. War loan 3J per cent. £lOO 8s 9d. The stock markets were idle.
