In the Rugby League Cup final at Wembley Huddersfield beat Warrington by 21 to 17. Fifty thousand were presend, including the Prince of Wales, who was deputising for the King and presented the cup to the winners. Thirty-six special trains brought, the northern invasion to see the match. Huddersfield’s victory was chiefly due to Bowkott 's six magnificent goals from all angles. Warrington were faster generally and superior in the overwhelming majority of scrums, but the stand-off half, Oster, was ineffective and the team’s goalkicking poor, three penalties being missed in the first ten minutes. Nevertheless they led to 10 to 9 at half-time. The second spell saw a terrific struggle and deadly tackling. The Australians Mills and Markham, playing for Huddersfield, were very fast. Mills scored a spectacular try at the critical moment.

The New eZalander, Seeling, sou of the old All DJacK, was prominent among the Warrington forwards.
