FORCED SALE
FARMER WINS SYMPATHY. ABANDONMENT RESULTS. [ Per Press Association. I CHRISTCHURCH, May A Interrupting an auctioneer who was about to begin a forced sale on Thursday of his stock and implements the owner, a farmer, appealed to those attending the sale, which was in a North Canterbury district, not to bid against him but to allow the articles to come back. “The sale has been forced on me,’’ he said. “I ought to be allowed to buy it again.’ * The crowd of nearly 200 was sympathetic and refused to bid. As a result the sale was abandoned.
