Thirty new world records and three marks equalling the present top performances were accepted by tho International Amateur Athletic Federation. Paavo Nurmi’s records were brought to ten by the recognition of three mure. Tho mark of 3min. 2 2-ssec. for the 1320-yard run made on June II this year at London by J. E. Lovelock (New Zealand) is among the new world irtarks. Other records include 100 metres in 10.3 see. Percy Williams, Canada, August 9, 1930, at Toronto; 6000 metre relay 15inin 55.650 e. England, on September 30, J 931; at Cologne. FINLAND INDIGNANT EXCLUSION OF NURMI Received Juh 31. 5.5 p.m. HELSINGFORS, July 30. Great indignation is fol in. Finland at the exclusion of Nurmi from the Olympic Games. Sporting circles, the Press, and the public voice a unanimous demand for tho withdrawal of the entire Finnish delegation from the Gaines.
