MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING Sandon teams visited Awahuri on Friday night to fire matches against the Awahuri Club for the Cliffe Remington and M.AI.R.A. cups. Sandon were successful in both grades. The detailed scores were as follows: A Grade Sandon

CHILDREN’S DANCE The children ’a dance organised by the school committee attracted a bum per attendance at the public hall. Tho number of children in fancy dress was a record, sixty taking part in tho opening grand inarch and a number of others coming later. The first part ol the evening was devoted to the children and a happy time was spent. A number of special items were introduced and the efforts of the children were greeted with applause. The programme was brought ru a close with a group march and the children marched into the supper room, where a plentiful and tasty supper was pre pared for them. Tho music for the children was played by Airs. E. N. Butler and Aliss Day. Air. E. J. Bowaler, on behalf of ‘‘he school committee, thanked all who had helped to make tho evening the muc cess it had been and especially mentioned tho children, teachers (Miss Day and Air. Francis), ladies for preparing the supper and the musicians. The floor was then given over to the adults and a happy time was spent until tho early hours of the morning. A local orchestra under the direction of Mrs. Butler supplied the music.
