SOCIAL EVENING

GONVILLE BOWLING CLUB The Gonville Bowling Club held its usual weekly function in the Masonic Hall on Saturday. These very popular evenings are attracting steady and excellent support. The * ‘500” prizes were won by Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Norris, consolations going to Mrs. Warnock and Mrs. Jesse. Considerable interest was centred in the aggregates, and after an exciting contest, in which the issue was in doubt until the concluding games the results were as follow: Ladies’ aggregate, Mrs. Gallen and Mrs. Chenery; gent’s, Mr. C. Evans and Mr. B. Morrison. In presenting the prizes the presi- , dent congratulated the winners on a meritorious performance and the supporters on the friendly sporting spirit which marked the conduct of the games and contributed so much to the enjoyment and happiness of those taking part. He reminded those present that the new aggregate commences next Saturday, August 6, and would be conducted on the same lines as the one just concluded. Supper proceedings were followed by old-time dancing, the floor being in excellent order and filled to its capacity until midnight, when a most enjoyable and successful evening was brought to a close. Monte Carlo prizes were won by Mrs. Bryan and Mrs. Bromley. Amongst those present were: Mr. and Mrs. R.
