WANGANUI MAN’S SUCCESS SALE IN SOUTH AMERICA [Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, July 29. Cable advice has been received from Buenos Aires that Mr. .lames Carlile Whiteman, a native of Wanganui, has sold the South American rights of his patent carburettor for using crude alcohol for motors, on which ho has been working for 30 years, for 500,001’ dollars. He has also floated companies in South Africa and London for exploitation of the patent. Mr. James Whiteman is a brother of Mr. E. H. Whiteman, of Kakatahi, inland Wanganui. The Whiteman famil} are well known in Wanganui and district, where they have been farming for many years. Members of th< family have been apprised from time to time of the efforts through successive years of the brother in the Argentine to perfect his invention.
