BRITISH LOAN CONVERSION
FEW ASK FCL REDEMPTION [ British Official Wireless.] RUGBY, July 28. Seventy-four thousand further applications for the conversion of war loan were received by the Bank of England yesterday, only 8000 applications being for redemption. The total applications to date are as follows:—Bank of England, 1,086,000; Post Office Savings Bank, 666,000; Trustees Savings Bank, 86,000; Bank of Ireland, 31,000.—Grand total, 1,369,000, of which 1,755,000 are for conversion, and their total holdings are about £2,600,000. The Swiss Bank Corporation yesterday deposited for conversion holdings of £1,000,000, and other large applications are announced from Swit zerland and South Africa.
