His Honour Mr. Justice McGregor will preside at the forthcoming sessions of the Wanganui Supreme Court. Dr. W. G. Scannell, late of Wanganui, has been appointed aural surgeon on the honorary staff of the Christchurch Hospital. The following are guests at Foster’s Hotel: Mr. C. W. Salmon, Mr. D. O. Whyte and Mr. F. A. L. Hunt (Wellington). Messrs. A. R. Donaldson (president) and S. R. McCallum (secretary) T ot the Wanganui Rotary Club, leave on Monday for the District Executive Conference of Rotary in Wellington. Superintendent J. Williams has tendered his resignation to the Wanganui Fire Board, to take effect on August 15. He intends setting up in’ private business in the south. Mr. Leo Fanning, the well-known Wellington journalist, has been engaged as publicist by the New Zealand Native Bird Protection Society to cooperate with the honororay secretary (Captain E. V. Sanderson) in a national campaign for the conservation and propagation of native forests and birds. At the annual meeting of the Rotary Club of Christchurch, held on Wednesday, the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Dr. H. G. Denham; vice-president, Mr. Denys Hoare; hon. secretary-treasurer, Mr. L. G. K. Steven; Scrgcant-at-Arms Mr. P. Hockley; board of directors, the Rev. Stephen Parr, Dr. L. C. L. Averill, Messrs. G. J. Lancaster, R. Arch Campbell, and A. J. McEldowney. The immediate past-president is Mr. A. M. Burns.
