Taking complete control the game in the first few minutes the New Zealand hockey tourists overwhelmed the Warwick eleven this afternoon, running up goals with monotonous regularity, eventually winning by 13 to I. Though the match was one-sided it featured a brilliant, exhibition of the game on the part of the visitors, whose tour of Queensland thus far had been characterised by easy victories. The combination was wonderful, especially in the forwards, who completely nonplussed the local players by their speed of attack and tactics, especially the moves of Anthony, Bay and Rodgers, which invariably ended in goals. The backs, too, combined with uncanny accuracy, outstanding being Parker, who played hockey of a type seldom seen in Queensland. Bollard and Munro were conspicuous. The visitors scored within five minutes of the opening, and, with, the exception of two occasions, were on the attack for the greater part of the first half, during w’hich seven goals were netted. The score at half-time was 7 to nil. In the second half the New Zealanders again took control of affairs and early added an additional three goals in quick succession. Then Warwick for the first, time seemed to have the upper hand but the advantage was short-lived. The visitors dominated play for the remainder of the game, winning by 13 to 1. Goals werp scored by Anthony (6), Rodgers (5), Bay and Best (one each). For Warwick, Stewart scored a try. The teams were as follow: New Zealand: Moore, Ewan, Parker, Bollard, Joblin, Munro, Anthony, Bay, Best, Rodgers, Reid. Warwick.—Dunbar. Ward, Johnson, Ansley, Jensen, Williams (replaced by Pollock), Furness, Garland, Hall, Stewart.
