IRELAND AND BRITAIN ORIGIN OF THE TREATY COMMENT BY MR. BALDWIN IBy Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] Received June 29, 7.5 |).m. LONDON, June 29. Mr Stanley Baldwin, in a speech referring to Ireland, regretted any interference in trade between Ireland and Britain. “What happened is none of lour doing,” he said. “It ip claimed that the treaty was made under duress. If that were true it would equally be true to claim that there is another kind of durdss. Our side can only say, after what has taken place, that we can sec no chance of Britain entering any negotiations with Ireland at Ottawa.”
