EDUCATIONAL CONTROL
BOARD ELECTIONS. NOMINATIONS RECEIVED. Nominations closed yesterday for the election of ward representatives on tho Wanganui Education Board. The election ig a bi-ennial one, the members being elected for a period of four years, and half going to the poll every two years. Districts whose representatives retired on this occasion were: Wanganui Urban Area, Palmerston North Urban Area, North Ward, South Ward, and the West Ward. Of those, no election will be held in either the South Ward or the West Ward, thp sitting members being reelected unopposed. The death of the late Air. W. A. Collins rendered vacant the seat for the Wanganui Urban Area, although Air. Collins would have been retiring had he still been a mom/ ber of the board. Mr. W. S. Woodroofe is not seeking re-election as a member of the board representing the Palmerston North Urban Area, and Mr. W. Adams will not be contesting the seat for the North Ward, having decided to retire. Nominations are:— Wanganui Urban Area: William Thomas Benefield and William Mowat Falconer. Palmerston North Urban Area: Joseph Hodgens and James Henry Whyte. North Ward: Arthur Hickford (of Raurimu) and Peter Alunro (of Utiku). South Ward: James Stanley Tingey (re-elected unopposed). West Ward: Alfred Samuel Coleman (re-elected unopposed).
