FUNERAL OBSEQUIES
LATE MR. MAKITANARA. | Per Press Association.J LEVIN, June 28. The funeral obsequies of the late Mr. Tiuti Makitanara, M.P., Southern Maori Division, took place this afternoon, the interment being on a hilltop in the grounds of his residence at Hokio. in the presence of the Prime Minister, Minister of Education and many tribal representatives, Parliamentarians and European residents. In the course of an address Mr. Forbes referred to Mr. Makitanara’s devotion to the interests of the Maori people and his close attention to Parliamentary duties. The funeral rites were carried out by a representative of the Mormon Church.
