UNNECESSARY DIFFERENCES
UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF SECRETARIES TO CONFER Suggestions fur a conference of hospital board secretaries from Wairarapa, Palmerston North and Wanganui came before yesterday’s meeting oi the Wanganui board. The Wairarapa secretary pointed out in a letter that the Wanganui board granted sustenance during the standdown w r eek and also issued boots to the unemployed, and. in addition, had a free meat issue. The Palmerston North board granted no sustenance during the stand-down week except in cases of extreme urgency, but had a cash grant from the Unemployment Board weekly and also had a free meat issue. Tho Wairarapa Hospital Board granted no relief during stand-down week, except in cases of urgency, and no assistance was forthcoming front official organisations or otherwise. The need for uniformity of treat ment was stressed by members at the meeting, and it was decided that the . secretary attend the conference of scretaries of the three boards. \
