“MIDDLE RUN” JERSEYS

SUCCESSFUL DISPERSAL SALE The dispersal of Messrs. AV. H. Booth and Sons’ noted “Middle .Run” stud on Wednesday, May 11, attracted a widely representatix’e attendance. Founded in 1903, this herd has a continuous record of success. During its almost thirty years of existence it has distributed some of the Dominion’s most notable breeding stock and one of the most gratifying features of the sale was the largo attendance and keen competition from old patrons of the stud. North Auckland and Waikato breeders operated freely and breeders from Taranaki. Manawatu, Poverty Bay and Hawke’s Bay also figured prominently among the buyers. Local competition was somewhat checked owing to the severe drought experienced in the Wairarapa, but it was pleasing, nevertheless, to sec a good number of these splendid cattle remain in the district. Despite the very serious drought experienced, the “Middle Run” cattle were brought out in very pleasing condition, their coats and capacity showing the robust constitution for which these cattle are noted. Competition was well sustained, and the satisfactory average under existing conditions of 25 guineas was obtained for the entire offering. The sale was conducted by the Associated Live Stock. Auctioneers, Ltd., and Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co.. Ltd. in conjunction.
