GRAND OPERA CONCERT IN AID OF UNEMPLOYMENT FUND The residents of Marton and musiclovers have a treat in store f r them at the forthcoming grand opera 3ncert at the Civic Theatre, Marton, on Friday, May 27. Signora Aida Bulmar, Italian grand opera soprano, is the possessor of a beautiful voice, its quality and tonal resonance are ' ln lightful She will be heard in various types of song, and her personality and acting are charming. The Marton public will also bo delighted at once more h 'ng the opportunity of hearing Signor Lucien Cesaroni. His many varieties of song, impersonation and acting should be highly appreciated. The programme will include items by Miss Mountfort and her students, a dance by Miss Barker’s pupils and a recitation by Miss Mclvor. The proceeds are to be given to the local Unemployment Relief Committee. There should be no occasion to urge the Marton public to support such a deserving cause and at the same time give themselves a rare musical treat.

LADIES’ GOLF A very enjoyable match was played with the Palmerston North Club on the Marton links on Thursday. The first ten played for the Rapley Cup and after a close contest Mi ' lost by one game.
