IN CRITICAL POSITION. (San Francisco Press Broadcast). SAN FRANCISCO, May 19. San Francisco is in a critical financial situation. There are between 1,000,000 and 1,500,000 dollars less in the Treasury than is required to meet current expenses for the month of June. Faced with a charter provision that the city cannot create a deficit, city heads were striving frantically for means of paying almost 7000 employees for the remainder of the fiscal year. This situation became known last night while the board of supervisors went Into an all-night session on the Bud get for the fiscal year 1932-33.
