Air. W. Morrison. Maxwell, has re turned from Wellington, where he was attending a meeting of the Highways Board. Mr. E. Berg, of the Wanganui Queen Alexandra’s Own Band, won the open bras; solo at the Manawatu C npotitions held at Palmerston North on Thursday. General Sinclair-Burgess, G.0.C., Wellington Headquarters, was a visitor to Waveriey on Wednesday and Thursday. He inspected the Queen Alexandra’s Mounted Rifles in camp at Waveriey. Air 8. Blackey was without dissent u’ectcd chairman of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board for th e coming year, at the annual meeting of the board. Hogben has arrived in Wanganui to succeed Mr. F. B. Barber as manager of the Wanganui branch of the Commercial Bank of Australia. Mr. Hogben is by his wife and family. He was previously stationed at Hamilton, having been there for seven years. Mr. Barber leaves about, the end of tho month for his new position in Tasmania after being in Waii*anui roar and a-ha If years.
