A CHEAP WEED KILLER
A correspondent sends the following: “X am sending you a wrinkle taken from ‘Answers’ which I. hope will be of some benefit to your many readers who possess gardens. It, is to use rock salt as a weed killer on ■ paths, etc.; lib. to a square yard, and 1 if in liquid form 2lb. of salt, to live gallons of water. A few days at’tei applying this all weeds will disappear, not to return fur years. It. is ot special use to stony paths or othci places which are difficult to hoe. 1 have used it often, and always with good results, and I may say this recipe has another advantage. It is cheap and non-poisonous. If in making a now gravel path the salt if worked into the lop layer of gravel it will be oven more efficacious.
