LOST FLYING-BOAT
CONTAINED THREE MEN. Received Mav 19, 10.40 p.m. SYDNEY, May 19. The Civil Aviation Department is of opinion that there arc at least three men in the flying-boat which is missing between Kocpang and Darwin. In addition to Hans Bertram, the pilot, there is a mechanic and passenger, all three of whom lef Hongkong for Australia together. According to an earlier Darwin message, mystery surrounds the disappearance of the Junkers flying-boat. Bima reported that the craft left there on Monday. A message from Koepang. timed 3.30 p.m. on Monday, inquired if the machine had arrived at iDarwin. No authentic information is available concerning the mystery.
