BRILLIANT DECORATIONS

A HAPPY FUNCTION. The hall presented a strickingly pretty appearance. Punga ferns and flags draped the walls, whi.o streamers of b.ack and red made a canopy overhead, while bowls of cherry blossom, spuraxis, and bulbs made the tables a bower uf flowers. Coloured lights were also placed round the hall, and turned it into a fairyland. Items by Aliss Alarcan Hamerton, Air. F. Naismith, Air. A. Langslow (songs), and Airs. Masters and Air. C. H. Carey (duet) mado pleasant interludes in the toast list, and were greatly appreciated. • Many old residents and pioneers were present, over two hundred sitting dowu.
