ON VICTORIAN TRACKS
PREPARING FOR FLEMINGTON MELBOURNE, Oct. 13. At Flemington, Miss Arrow (J. Butler), assisted by Concentrate (D. McIntosh), ran a mile on tho grass in 1 min. 47sec. Denis Boy (W. Brady) did a mile in Imin 56sec, the last six furlongs in Imin 22sec. Illustrious (A. Wilson) ran a mile on the tan in Imin 494 sc*c, going freely. Shadow King did a mile aesily in Imin 55sec.
Prince Dayton strode over a round. Royal Barb (F. Comeron) cantered twice round, and moved freely. He looks well. The Dimmer trotted aud cantered. His trainer is pleased with him since his arrival. He had swimming yesterday afternoon. At Caulfield, Vigne (J. Pratt) did a mile and a quarter on the course proper in 2min 14sec, the last three furlongs in 39sec. He looks well. Ammon Ra cantered in good style. Spearman has arrived and did gentle work. Jcypore went better than Yar ramba over ten furlongs on the grass, in 2min 14$sec, the first six in Imin J9see. Old Ming sprinted five furlongs on the course proper in Imin 34 sec. Chatham ran nine furlongs on the grass in 2min 14se*c easily. Einga (A. Reed) did five furlongs in Imin 6see. Hathalie ran half a mile in 50sec. Prohibition did a mile on the cinders in Imin 45scc. Donna Celesta ran six furlongs in Imin 19scc. Bhopal Jumna did ten furlongs in 2min 19sec. Ashley Reed rides Concentrate and Oratorian in their Melbourne engagements.
First Acre and Phar Lap will arrive from Sydney to-night. The New Zealand-bred mare Princess Betty. who died yesterday, suffered from a twisted bowel.
T. Webster rides First Acre in the Cau’field Cup; R. Lewis, Prinee Dayton; E. Reynolds, Pieatus; N. Percival. Battenburg; and R. Wilson Jeypore.
Miss Arrow bled after the Toorah Handicap, but is now all right.
